We tried it out on a trip and we arrived at the wrong destination. A little annoyed, I asked my wife to check the post code she had given me. Of course it was the wrong one so I apologised to "Dora the Explorer" and do my own donkey work now.

Excellent product, supurb value for money. Previous to the Garmin Nuvi 255 I had a Tom Tom One Europe for about three years. The Garmin boots up faster, recalculates faster, is slimmer and lasts longer on batteries. It also doesn't need updating as often as the Tom Tom. I used to have to connect the Tom Tom to the computer virtually every time I used it to get the weekly changing Quick Fix file (so that it could find the satellites at boot up) and to get the map share updates. I bought this after doing much research on all other products, but wanted to include Europe as I journey over there frequently and my job in England takes me all over the country. "It does just as it says on the box". Easy to understand instructions and recalculates quickly if you make a wrong turn which I have done reguarly. Marvelous piece of kit, tells you your speed and the speed limit there, warns you of potential speed camera, can get your directiosn through map, place name or postcode, changes scale as appropriate.

All that my wife and myself wanted for a SatNav was a simple "guide you there" system. We didn't want any "bells ans whisles" as the saying "you can't teach old dog's new tricks", applies to us. In most ways the Garmin supplied the answer.It has some things such as "Bluetooth", which we do not need, and it lacks specific lane details which is occasionally a disadvantage.
