Rating:  - Very poor reliability and customer service from Garmin
I bought one in February 2010 but didn't use it until June when I travelled to France and it performed well. However,on the return trip it locked and subsequently had severe problems acquiring satellites, calculating routes, remembering favourites and locked many times. Garmin telephone support takes ages to reply and they suggested updating the software which I tried but the machine wouldn't update because it couldn't find a file. It works in an aircraft! I was sat by a passenger window and indeed it records the speed and altitude consistent with the plane's internal passenger display!!! It did lose satelite reception for a long while but I was able to see that when flying in to Heathrow we went past Slough and nearly as far a Reading before turning to land at Terminal 5. You'll have to go to plan view and zoom out to see where you are.
And yes it works in a car beautifully.

Owing to the fact that "she" occasionally doesn't know her left from her right, the voice commands are unreliable and I no longer have them turned on.
When only using the View Map function it shows only a selection of the streets coming up ahead.

Simple and accurate. Would be better to include a printed manual, rather than one on the Garmin web site. To a non-tech like me, the free update is somewhat complicated and takes a long time to download. Apart from these points, I like the product. It does what it says on the tin. Good value.
