I don't buy golf kit without researching. Like a few reviewers, you name the product, I've compared and contrasted in order to make the best decision in value for financial cost and on the course practical use. I particularly didn't want any product that required an on going yearly subscription. That feels like owning a laptop and paying Microsoft every year to use Windows!

I purchased my Sonocaddie V300 in February 2010. It arrived with all necessarry components (hardware, software, leads etc)
Very easy to set up and download courses. there is a little bit of adjusting to do in setup for modern computers using Vista and above, but very good diagrams to explain what to do and anyone with even fundamental computer skills will be able to make it work easily. NOTE, ALL UK COURSES ARE FREE TO DOWNLOAD.

I bought this because I liked the idea of no annual subscription, and most importantly I wanted some help with distance confirmation. The GPS turned up and I unpacked it (this is probably the hardest part) followed the instructions and heah presto, were in business. Downloaded the courses I would be playing from the web site (all the ones I wanted were all ready there). Turned the GPS on outside, there was a little bit of a wait first time for it to locate the satellites and off we went.

Got this device for my husband at Christmas, having researched a number of similar items. He has used it once and found it very user friendly and more importantly, very accurate. Going to Portugal in March and having searched the database for the courses we will be playing but could not find them so sent a request to get them mapped. Received reply within 12 hours stating courses were on the database, lesson learned.... only search by selecting the country, do not select a region or city as not all courses seem ... Read More

Sonocaddie V300 Golf GPS System
Purchased 16th Dec, received 21st Dec. Loaded several courses and played in the ice following. Great until it came to loading markers I wanted. No probs until the 4th & 5th. 6th & 7th back to OK but on the 8th "Fatal Error" message. Deleted my course and reloaded but haven't had chance to check if all OK.
Great item, easy downloads, great for markers & distances but mine! Don't be put off.
